Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ cup ketchup (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, diced onion, milk, 2 tbsp ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined, but don’t overwork the meat.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish or loaf pan.
  4. Spread the remaining ½ cup of ketchup evenly over the top.
  5. Bake for 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
