Ingredients

  • 6 cups day-old bread, cubed
  • 2 cups eggnog
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
  • Whipped cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggnog, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Add the cubed bread and stir until evenly coated. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
  4. Stir in melted butter and raisins, then transfer to the prepared baking dish.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown and a knife inserted comes out clean.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving with whipped cream.
