Ingredients

For the Steak Bites

  • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

For the Mashed Potatoes

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: fresh chives for garnish

Instructions

For the Steak Bites

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season steak bites with salt and pepper.
  3. Sear the steak pieces in the skillet until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. Lower heat, add butter and minced garlic, and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Toss with fresh parsley if desired and set aside.

For the Mashed Potatoes

  1. Boil cubed potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes.
  2. Drain and mash the potatoes with butter, heavy cream, and salt.
  3. Serve warm, topped with optional chives.

Serving
