Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup ice water
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually add ice water and mix until dough forms. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into rectangles.
  5. Place half of the rectangles on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Evenly distribute shredded cheese and crumbled bacon on each rectangle, leaving space around the edges.
  7. Top with the remaining rectangles and seal the edges with a fork.
  8. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
