Cake

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Frosting

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Cake

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a saucepan, combine butter, water, and peanut butter. Heat until melted and smooth.
  4. Pour the hot mixture into the dry ingredients and mix well.
  5. Add eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Frosting

  1. In a saucepan, melt peanut butter and butter together.
  2. Remove from heat and add milk, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  3. Spread frosting over the cooled cake.
