Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • Sliced green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and water into a smooth batter. Dip cauliflower florets in the batter, shake off excess, then coat with breadcrumbs and sesame seeds.
  3. Place coated florets on the baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until crispy and golden.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare the sauce by combining soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic in a saucepan over medium heat.
  5. Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
  6. Toss the baked cauliflower in the sticky sesame sauce until well-coated.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with sliced green onions.
