Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork or ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 head cabbage, shredded
  • 1 large carrot, julienned
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Add ground pork or turkey and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
  3. Add onion and garlic, cooking for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in cabbage and carrots, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add soy sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir well.
  6. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until flavors meld together.
  7. Remove from heat, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve hot.
