Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can (14 oz) chopped tomatoes
  • 1 can (14 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
  3. Stir in ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Add bell pepper, tomato paste, chopped tomatoes, and beef broth.
  5. Season with cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Simmer for 25-30 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  7. Add kidney beans and cook for another 10 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with rice or bread.
